In fact, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday praised former head coach Rahul Dravid, selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar and BCCI secretary Jay Shah and said that they gave full support in the effort to get the best performance from the players, due to which India could win the T20 World Cup 2024 title.

Under Rohit's captaincy, India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June by defeating South Africa in the final. This was India's second T20 World Cup win after 2007 and Rohit bid farewell to the T20 format with this victory.

"It was a dream for me to make this team such that it can play freely without worrying too much about the results. That was what was required. I got a lot of help from my three pillars who are actually Mr Jay Shah, Mr Rahul Dravid and the chairman of the selection committee Ajit Agarkar," Rohit said after being named the men's international cricketer of the year at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards.

Rohit further said that it was very important for me to be able to do what I did and of course we should not forget the players who came in at different times and helped the team achieve this. Winning the T20 World Cup was a feeling that does not come every day. It was something we were all expecting. When we won the World Cup, it was important for everyone to enjoy the moment, which we did very well and also thank our country who celebrated this happiness with us.
